The weak-evidence four
Which cinnamon and Payarmin ingredients have any evidence?
The NIH says only weak evidence exists for chromium, cinnamon, berberine and alpha-lipoic acid, and none for most other supplements (Diabetes and Dietary Supplements per NCCIH).
Of those four, Payarmin lists only chromium, at 0.7 mcg per 1 ml serving.
| Supplement | On the Payarmin label? | Amount printed |
|---|---|---|
| Chromium | Yes, as chromium picolinate | 0.7 mcg |
| Cinnamon | No | Not applicable |
| Berberine | No | Not applicable |
| Alpha-lipoic acid | No | Not applicable |
The dose gap
Does the chromium in Payarmin match the research?
No. Trials gave chromium at up to 1,000 mcg a day, and a key diabetes trial used 200 and 1,000 mcg (Chromium per NIH ODS). One serving holds 0.7 mcg.
That is about 0.35% of the lowest studied dose. Weak evidence at a high dose says little about a tiny one.
Cinnamon products have the same trap in reverse: a weak signal for one extract at one dose does not carry over to every bottle that says cinnamon. Compare the amount per serving, not the name.
Before you buy
What should you ask before choosing either one?
Ask what the label proves, not what the front promises. Four short questions cover most of it.
Then check with a doctor, since the ADA finds no supplement shown to manage diabetes and warns of lows with diabetes drugs (Vitamins & Supplements per ADA).
What is the amount?
Per serving, in mg or mcg.
What form is it?
Extract, powder or a mix.
What is the study?
Same dose, same form, human trial.
What medicines clash?
Ask a pharmacist.

FAQ
Questions people raise about payarmin vs cinnamon?
One to start with: Is there cinnamon in Payarmin? Plus 4 more answered below.
Each answer gives the plain reply first, then the reasoning and a citation where available.
Is there cinnamon in Payarmin?
No. The 23 label lines hold chromium and 22 blend items, and cinnamon is not one of them. Check the facts panel to confirm.
Why does the NIH name cinnamon and chromium together?
It lists them as the few supplements with weak evidence, which means small or mixed studies (Diabetes and Dietary Supplements per NCCIH). Weak evidence is not proof of benefit.
Is cinnamon safer because it is a kitchen spice?
Not by default. A pinch in food and a concentrated extract in a bottle are different amounts. Safety in cooking does not settle safety in a supplement, so ask a pharmacist.
Can I switch from cinnamon pills to Payarmin?
Ask your doctor before any change. Swapping products also swaps the ingredients that may touch your medicines, such as chromium (Chromium per NIH ODS).
Which is cheaper per day?
Payarmin costs about $1.63 to $2.63 a day at one dropper, if a dropper holds 1 mL. Check a cinnamon label for its own days per bottle.
