The short list
What are the side effects of Payarmin?
No trial has tested Payarmin, so no one has measured its side effects. The effects below come from research on its single ingredients.
The main ones are low blood sugar when mixed with diabetes drugs, caffeine effects, stomach upset and changes in blood pressure or clotting.
The amounts per ingredient are hidden, so we cannot say which risk is large or small.
| Ingredient | Reported effect | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Chromium picolinate | May add to insulin and diabetes drugs, and may lower levothyroxine absorption | (Chromium per NIH ODS) |
| Gymnema | Reversible liver injury case report | (Gymnema monograph per Drugs.com) |
| African mango seed | Gas, headache, trouble sleeping, one kidney failure case | (Irvingia gabonensis (African mango) per MSKCC) |
| Green tea and guarana | Caffeine, nausea, insomnia, rare liver injury from extracts | (Green Tea per NCCIH), (Guarana per MSKCC) |
| Panax ginseng | Insomnia, possible clotting effects, may lower blood sugar | (Asian Ginseng per NCCIH) |
| Coleus forskohlii | Low blood pressure, slow heart rate, diarrhea | (Forskolin (Coleus forskohlii) per MSKCC) |
| Arginine and licorice compound | Blood pressure changes; irregular heartbeat with licorice | (Licorice Root per NCCIH), (Arginine per MSKCC) |
Low blood sugar
Can Payarmin cause low blood sugar?
It might, mainly if you take insulin, a sulfonylurea or another glucose-lowering drug. Chromium, gymnema and ginseng may add to those drugs (Chromium per NIH ODS) (Vitamins & Supplements per ADA).
The Payarmin label does not claim any blood sugar effect, and no trial shows one. The risk is about stacking, not about the drops alone.
Know the signs below, and ask your doctor before starting.
- TremblingShaking hands, a nervous feeling
- Cold sweatClammy skin for no clear reason
- Sudden hungerStrong hunger, maybe queasiness
- LightheadedFoggy thinking or slurred speech
- Racing pulseHeart pounding or beating fast
15-15Under 70 mg/dL counts as low for most people with diabetes. Have 15 to 20 g of fast-acting carbohydrate (juice or glucose tablets, for example), and test again in 15 minutes.
Call 911If someone with a low blood sugar blacks out, has a convulsion or is unable to swallow safely. Do not place food or drink in an unconscious person’s mouth.
Signs and steps are NIDDK's (Low Blood Glucose per NIDDK). Insulin, sulfonylureas and meglitinides are known causes of lows, and supplements can pile on (Vitamins & Supplements per ADA).
Caffeine and stomach
Does Payarmin cause jitters or stomach upset?
It can, in some people. Guarana and green tea carry caffeine, and caffeine can cause a fast heartbeat, insomnia, anxiety and jitters (Caffeine: how much is too much? per FDA).
The label gives no caffeine amount. Guarana is third on the list, so it holds at most about 67 mg of extract per ml, and the caffeine share of that is not printed.
Guarana also causes nausea in some people (Guarana per MSKCC), and carnitine and arginine can upset the stomach at doses much higher than one serving (Arginine per MSKCC) (Carnitine per NIH ODS).
FDA cites 400 mg of caffeine a day as an amount not generally linked to harm in healthy adults (Caffeine: how much is too much? per FDA).
If you are sensitive, start with one dropper, take it in the morning, and note sleep and heartbeat in the log from the results timeline.
Medicine interactions
Can Payarmin interact with blood pressure medicine and others?
Yes, it could. Coleus, arginine and licorice compounds can act on blood pressure, so they may add to blood pressure medicine (Forskolin (Coleus forskohlii) per MSKCC) (Licorice Root per NCCIH) (Arginine per MSKCC).
Other ingredients bring their own cautions. Ask a pharmacist about every medicine you take, not only the ones in this table.
| If you take | Ingredient to ask about | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Statins, some heart and anxiety drugs | Grapefruit extract | (Grapefruit juice and drugs per FDA) |
| Digoxin | Eleuthero | (Siberian Ginseng (Eleuthero) per MSKCC) |
| Thyroid medicine | Chromium | (Chromium per NIH ODS) |
| Immune-suppressing medicine | Astragalus | (Astragalus per NCCIH) |
Keep taking prescribed medicine and never change a dose because of a supplement.
Special cases
Is Payarmin safe in pregnancy, under 18 or before surgery?
Nobody can call it safe in these cases. The label asks pregnant or nursing mothers and anyone under 18 to consult a physician before using it.
Before surgery, tell the surgical team about every supplement, because several ingredients may affect clotting (Asian Ginseng per NCCIH) (Guarana per MSKCC) (Forskolin (Coleus forskohlii) per MSKCC).
Pregnant or nursing
Ginseng may be unsafe in pregnancy (Asian Ginseng per NCCIH), L-tryptophan is likely unsafe (L-tryptophan per Drugs.com), and maca may not be safe (Maca per MSKCC).
Under 18
The label says to consult a physician first. No study of the product exists in young people.
Before surgery
Ask the surgeon and anesthesiologist whether to pause the drops. Bring the ingredient list.

Is Payarmin harmful to dogs?
Yes, it can be. The drops contain xylitol, which can drop a dog's blood sugar fast, within 10 to 60 minutes of eating it (Paws Off Xylitol per FDA).
Signs include vomiting, weakness, collapse and seizures. If a dog may have licked or swallowed the drops, call a vet or animal poison control right away.
The label gives no xylitol amount, and keeping the bottle out of reach is the safe rule.

When to stop
When should you stop taking Payarmin?
Stop and call a doctor if you get a fast or irregular heartbeat, fainting, signs of low blood sugar, or a severe stomach reaction. Call 911 if a person with low sugar passes out or cannot swallow safely (Low Blood Glucose per NIDDK).
Stop too if you become pregnant, start a new medicine, or the safety seal was broken when you opened the bottle.
- Trouble sleeping that does not settle, or anxiety after each dose.
- A new prescription, surgery date or pregnancy.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist what you took and how much.
The balance
Is Payarmin safe to take?
Safety has not been shown for the product. For a healthy adult with no medicines, the main risks are caffeine effects and stomach upset, and nobody has measured their size.
Compare the ingredient list with each medicine you take before you order.

FAQ
Questions people raise about side effects?
One to start with: What are the side effects of Payarmin? Plus 6 more answered below.
Each answer gives the plain reply first, then the reasoning and a citation where available.
What are the side effects of Payarmin?
No trial has measured them. The ingredients are linked to low blood sugar with diabetes drugs, caffeine effects like jitters and insomnia, stomach upset and blood pressure changes (Chromium per NIH ODS) (Caffeine: how much is too much? per FDA). Rare liver injury has been reported with green tea extracts (Green Tea per NCCIH).
Can Payarmin cause low blood sugar?
It might for people on insulin, a sulfonylurea or another glucose-lowering drug, because chromium, gymnema and ginseng may add to those drugs (Chromium per NIH ODS) (Vitamins & Supplements per ADA). Signs include shakiness, sweating, hunger and confusion (Low Blood Glucose per NIDDK). Ask your doctor first.
Does Payarmin cause jitters or stomach upset?
It can in some people. Guarana and green tea add caffeine in an unprinted amount, which can cause jitters, fast heartbeat and poor sleep (Caffeine: how much is too much? per FDA). Guarana also causes nausea in some people (Guarana per MSKCC). Start with one dropper and take it in the morning.
Can Payarmin interact with blood pressure medicine?
Possibly. Coleus, arginine and licorice compounds can affect blood pressure (Forskolin (Coleus forskohlii) per MSKCC) (Licorice Root per NCCIH) (Arginine per MSKCC), and capsicum may worsen cough with ACE inhibitors (Cayenne (Capsicum) per MSKCC). Show the ingredient list to your pharmacist before starting.
Is Payarmin harmful to dogs?
Yes, it can be. The drops contain xylitol, which can cause a rapid, dangerous drop in a dog's blood sugar within 10 to 60 minutes (Paws Off Xylitol per FDA). Keep the bottle out of reach and call a vet or animal poison control at once if a dog gets any.
When should I stop taking Payarmin?
Stop and call a doctor if you have a racing or irregular heartbeat, fainting, signs of low blood sugar or a severe stomach reaction. Also stop if you become pregnant or the seal was broken. Call 911 if someone with a low passes out (Low Blood Glucose per NIDDK).
